About Us

Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center began in 1971 as a private hand surgery practice located near downtown Indianapolis at Winona Hospital. Since then, we have grown to become a renowned center of excellence, recognized across the world for our specialization in problems and injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Now located on the northwest side of the city, Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center is the largest free-standing facility of its kind in the world. We employ 12 board-certified orthopedic surgeons, seven fellows, 120 employees, and we have seven other locations throughout central Indiana.

Foundation for Hand ResearchAbout Us

The Foundation for Hand Research and Education was founded in 1988 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of hand surgery and the promotion of research findings in a variety of educational settings. The Foundation’s ultimate goal was to improve the lives of those who suffer from injuries or disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. In 2006, the Foundation’s assets were transferred into the St. Vincent Foundation. The goal and purpose of the Foundation remain the same.
