More About
Caitlin
When did you know you were going to be a healthcare provider? (or why did you select a career in healthcare?)
Growing up, my father was an orthopedic trauma surgeon so he wanted to make sure I understood how dangerous it was to drive a car. He made a rule that I had to spend 24 hours with him and his team to see what could happen if you weren’t safe. At the time I hated blood and was absolutely dreading this, but wanted my drivers license so begrudgingly agreed. By the end of the night I was in the operating room observing surgery and had fallen head over heels in love with medicine. I have never looked back!
What inspires you about your work?
My patients! I love meeting and getting to work with so many different people, each with their own story and journey. It truly is an honor to walk with each patient during this small chapter of their life.
How would you describe your approach to patient care?
I always want to make sure the patient feels heard, understood and involved in the care decisions that are made. I believe in a cooperative approach – decision making will always include the healthcare professionals and the patient. It is my job to make sure each patient feels fulfilled after meeting and working with our team.
